Teen Techies Academy

Every day, millions of Nigerian teenagers wake up and reach for their phones. They scroll, they watch, they consume. They are, in the language of the internet, users. Teen Techies Academy (TTA) is on a mission to change that — one teenager at a time.

Founded by Lagos-based product designer and design mentor Loveth Akodu, TTA is a Nigeria-based edtech initiative with one clear, urgent mission: to transform teenagers from passive consumers of technology into confident, skilled creators. The medium is UI/UX design — the discipline that sits at the intersection of creativity, empathy, and technology.

Why This Matters Right Now

Nigeria has one of the youngest populations in the world. Millions of teenagers are growing up online — consuming content they didn’t create, using products they didn’t design, and building habits that could either become superpowers or dead weight. The difference, TTA believes, is access and an early start.

Design thinking, problem-solving, and digital skills are not luxuries for Nigerian teenagers. They are the difference between watching the global economy and participating in it. Teen Techies Academy exists to make that participation possible — without gatekeeping, without expensive bootcamps, and without waiting until university.

“”If you could change one thing about the world with unlimited time and money — what would it be?” When Loveth was asked this question in a recent interview, her answer was instant: “I’m already doing it with Teen Techies Academy. I’d just scale it so every teenager gets an early head start in tech.”” — Loveth Akodu, Technext Women in Tech Trivia, February 2026.

What TTA Has Built So Far

In just over a 7 months of active programming, Teen Techies Academy has delivered 7+ virtual sessions — free, monthly webinars covering design trends, tool tutorials, career insights, and live builds. One standout session saw participants build a real working website hero section using Figma, Framer, and Lovable in real time.

Through a partnership with Childvest by PWAN/PWANMax ,TTA has provided hands-on UI/UX design training to young people who might never have accessed such opportunities. To date, over 100 teens across 5 cities have been empowered through TTA’s programmes and community.

The feedback from teens and parents has been remarkable. Here is what some of them had to say:

The March 2026 Cohort: Why Register Now

TTA is starting its first official virtual design cohort in March 2026 — and this is not a cohort to sleep on.

Here is why parents and teenagers should register as soon as possible:

First, the early bird pricing. The cohort is priced at ₦150,000 — but right now, early registrants can secure a spot for just ₦50,000. That is a ₦100,000 saving, and it will not last forever.

Second, spots are limited. This is a live, virtual cohort with peer collaboration and direct mentorship access — not a recorded course. Once it fills up, it fills up.

Third, the curriculum is built for the real world. Over 12 weeks (March to May 2026), teens will go from zero to a completed design portfolio. They will learn UI/UX fundamentals, design thinking, industry-standard tools, and how to build products that solve real problems. They will graduate with a certificate, a portfolio, and lifetime access to the TTA community.

And fourth — perhaps most importantly — the earlier a teenager starts, the further ahead they will be. In a world where design and tech skills are increasingly the currency of opportunity, giving your teenager a head start now is one of the most valuable investments you can make.

📌  What’s included in the March Cohort:  12-week live virtual programme (March–May 2026)  ·  UI/UX design curriculum  ·  Hands-on portfolio projects  ·  Industry guest speakers  ·  Certificate of completion  ·  Lifetime community access

What’s Coming After

The March cohort is just the beginning. TTA has announced a physical summer bootcamp in Ibadan and Lagos in August 2026 — an in-person intensive with hackathons, workshops, and networking. Frontend development, data science, and cybersecurity programmes are also in the pipeline. You can stay updated and explore all offerings at teentechiesacademy.com.
